Head of GPS Cross Asset Delivery

Role Description:


Report to the Global Technology Delivery Lead for GPS and will be accountable for the delivery of both Complex GPS Governed and non-Governed programmes.

This includes complex, large scale change across multiple Value Streams and technology organisational constructs (e.g.

ISO20022), but additionally, the role will be accountable for complex non-Governance Cross Asset deliveries ("GPS as a Service") that have Strategic importance to the Bank and critical revenue targets / regulatory commitments where GPS has a significant level of change.


Responsibilities:


  • Own annual planning for complex programmes and tracking of financial forecasts, resource planning.
  • Ensure optimal use of resources for attaining financial goals.
  • Develop and manage high performing team to meet present and future needs
  • Develop Talent and leadership at all levels including opportunities for growth, stretch roles, global leadership and succession for key/critical roles.
  • The role needs to be filled by a senior leader with a strong background in Technology delivery, with a very strong focus on Payment delivery
  • Provide and promote strong project and programme governance, in a strong, practical implementation that balances the needs of Stakeholders, internal Governance and Delivery
  • Collaborate with engineering and support leads to provide a clear roadmap on deliveries, with Scaled Agile framework
  • Build strong productive working relationships with technology leadership, Payment Technology teams and Line of Business teams
  • Analyze and address/fix delivery issues in a timely manner
  • Lead and provide direction and guidance as needed to the Testing team, including environment management
Requirements


Essential Skillset/Experience:


  • Strong technology experience including experience managing both change and run functions in large technology organizations in Banking and financial services (Payments experience is a must have).
  • Experience of running large scale complex technology programmes as well as a definition and strategy in order to solve the problem statement
  • Understanding the difference between programme management, project management and PMO, with clear demonstrated experience of how these different disciplines are leveraged by a Programme director
  • Ability and desire to learn and grow; both professionally, but also the team capability not only through incremental hiring, but also by efficient management and deployment of resourcing
  • Exposure to complex change environments across multiple disciplines, outside of the direct line management organisation
  • Experience of audit examinations and the experience of being the lead during examinations is desirable.
  • Experience of defining, building and managing teams including project / programme managers, PMO, test engineers, environment engineers and vendor resources across multiple locations and geographies in matrix model.
  • Ability to effectively drive and lead change in a global organization like HSBC in terms of scale, size and complexity
  • Strong knowledge and experience of managing financial, operation, market and regulatory drivers impacting complex and dynamic technology environment
  • Solid understanding of global technology trends especially in the Payments domain
  • Sound experience of building, leading, developing and retaining high performing teams.

The role will be based in London but some travel may be required. This role supports Hybrid working
