Description
Templer Ward is a 30 bedded in patient unit within Newton Abbot Community Hospital.

20 beds are dedicated to specialist stroke/neuro rehabilitation and the other 10 beds are used to provide general medical and end of life care.


Templer ward is a positive and supportive environement and these Senior healthcare worker posts are ideal for staff wishing to develop their career within nursing.

As a Senior Healthcare Support Worker you will provide the highest achievable standard of care following individual patient assessment of needs.

You will work effectively alongside Registered Nurses and therapists within the ward as required on a daily basis, and undertake supervision and where appropriate assist with the orientation of staff unfamiliar with the department

  • Supporting and working with colleagues during the shift
  • Liaising with the wider MDT to maintain safety
  • Helping to facilitate the development of the service as part of the wider team
  • To participate in discussions and projects that will benefit the team, the patients and the department as a whole
  • Working under guidance and in conjunction with the senior nursing team and the departmental Matron
  • Following the Department's and Trust's Policies and Protocols to ensure the safety of the department
