Alabaré are a charity supporting vulnerable, homeless and marginalised people.

We help them transform their lives, providing accommodation and helping them gain the skills, confidence and opportunities to live a fulfilled and independent life.


We require an enthusiastic individual for our Reception based in Salisbury, Wiltshire. You will provide a friendly, efficient and effective reception service along with admin support to HR between the hours 9am and 5pm, Monday
  • Friday.

We require somebody who is computer literate and willing to learn new skills. You are required to be confident to work as part of a team and on your own.

If you are presentable, honest, friendly ,well organised with common sense and a helpful attitude along with excellent communication skills then we would love to hear from you.


Alabaré are committed to ensuring the wellbeing and safety of all our service users, this includes developing, implementing and maintaining effective recruitment policies and procedures to promote the safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

Before commencing employment, the HR Department undertakes pre-employment checks on all applicants who have been offered a job with the Charity.

These checks include an Enhanced DBS, which will be renewed every 3 years, the right to live and work in the UK, as well as two satisfactory references.


All staff will be required to complete training on Safeguarding Adults and Young People within their first week of employment.

What would I be doing as a Receptionist at Alabaré?_

  • Ensure reception area is kept tidy, clean and welcoming and has up to date information displayed.
  • Be responsible for answering the main line telephone in a friendly and helpful manner transfer calls efficiently and record and circulate accurate messages to staff.
  • Greet all visitors to central services in a friendly and welcoming manner.
  • Deal with people who call on spec.
  • Administer the post including sorting and date stamping incoming post, sorting and franking outgoing post on a daily basis.
  • Filing, photocopying as and when required.
  • Supply the Finance Department with a postage report.
  • Take responsibility for the Alabaré Phone directory.
  • Update the telephone directory on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure staff ID badges have appropriate access to the building.

Administration:


  • Enter accurate details of Recruitment monitoring forms received from HR Recruitment & Onboarding Coordinator.
  • Collate information regarding Inspire Awards and produce the certificates.
  • Ensure the Organisational structure is kept up to date.
  • Take minutes from Central Services Meeting held monthly.
  • Work with HR to keep the Ethnicity Database up to date.
  • Assist HR with adhoc requests.

Building:


  • Meeting rooms
  • Manage the room bookings and check the room calendars for each day check the room status and prepare the rooms when necessary. Inform finance of chargeable bookings.
  • Ensure toilets are stocked with toiletries and toilet rolls.
  • Keep the kitchen clean and tidy, replenish refreshments when necessary.
  • Keep on top of the staff fridge, clean out when necessary.
  • Stocktake and organise supply of household items.
  • Stocktake and organise stationery, maintaining minimum stock levels.
  • Test the Fire Alarm weekly and ensure Fire Extinguishers are fit for purpose.
  • Ensure the First Aid boxes are fully stocked.
  • Be responsible for the Monthly Health & Safety check for Riverside House.
  • Be responsible for the Archive Room including the security waste collections.
  • Monitor the donations received and liaise with the Logistics Coordinator
