At Cancer Research UK, we exist to beat cancer.

We are professionals with purpose, beating cancer every day. But we need to go much further and much faster. That's why we're looking for someone talented, someone who wants to develop their skills, someone like you.

Cancer Research UK's Technology team believes that we can help our charity beat cancer sooner by supporting and promoting a positive culture of empowered teams that work collaboratively, make decisions based on solid evidence, and continuously adapt, learn, and improve.

As a Scrum Master, you will support the delivery of our

Engage Transformation Programme

in partnership with our Marketing, Fundraising & Engagement (MFE) Directorate.

This programme aims to deliver better, more personalised, and consistent experiences for Cancer Research UK's audiences which will build deeper, more engaged supporter relationships that increase fundraising towards our lifesaving research and services.

We are looking for three Scrum Masters to join our team and facilitate one of the following transformational projects within Engage: MFE, CRM, or CMS.

You will play a key role in ensuring that Agile methodologies are successfully implemented and that the Scrum team operates effectively to deliver high-quality products and services within your specialist area.

This will involve facilitating Agile events, partnering closely with Product Managers, coaching and mentoring the Development team in Agile methodologies and best practices, identifying and removing any impediments to productivity and delivery, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date delivery metrics.

What will I be doing?

  • Facilitating Agile events such as Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives to ensure successful implementation of Agile methodologies
  • Collaborating closely with Product Managers to map value into roadmaps and ensure that the product backlog is effectively managed, and priorities are aligned with business objectives
  • Coaching and mentoring the Development team in Agile methodologies and best practices to improve productivity and delivery
  • Helping the team to identify and remove any impediments that hinder productivity and delivery
  • Maintaining accurate and uptodate delivery metrics and using these to identify areas for improvement
  • Supporting the team in adopting new Agile practices and tools to enhance performance
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement where the team is empowered to make datadriven decisions and innovate to deliver highquality products and services
What skills are you looking for?

To be considered for this role, you must have the right to work in the UK as we are not able to offer visa sponsorship for this role

  • Experienced Scrum Master, Project Management, or Technology professional with a background in facilitating Agile methodologies in a large, complex, and dynamic environment
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification
  • Implemented delivery metrics, continuous improvements, technology products and/ or platforms (e.g. CRM, CMS, data tools etc)
  • Demonstrable experience in strong facilitation and coaching techniques
  • Ability to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams from technical and nontechnical backgrounds
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
What will I gain?

Each and every one of our employees contributes to our progress and is supporting our work to beat cancer. We think that's impressive.

In return, we make sure you are supported by a generous benefits package, a wide range of career and personal development opportunities and high-quality tools, policies and processes to enable you to do your job well.

Our benefits package includes a substantial retirement plan, a generous and flexible leave allowance, discounts on anything from travel to technology, gym membership, and much more.

We don't forget people have lives outside of work too and so we actively encourage a flexible working culture.

Our work - from funding cutting-edge research to developing public policy - will change the world. It's exciting to be part of our team.
