ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • To maintain passenger comfort while providing transport to and from Special Educational Schools and Day Centres. Providing care, responsive and effective support whilst driving passengers with physical, mental and /or development disabilities.
  • Ensuring the vehicle is fit for the route to be undertaken and complies with the department maintenance programme. Ensuring that the daily 1st use check is completed, and that the tail lift is correctly operated. That all wheelchairs are secured properly and in compliance with training provided.
  • To liaise with both Passenger Assistant, parents/carers and other professional people you come in contact with, reporting any issues/ concerns to the office as soon as possible.
  • Comply with the principles of standard infection control protocols at all time to prevent the spread of infection.
  • Must hold full UK driving licence with a D1 category.

The starting salary is £19,005 (Level One) rising to £19,705 (Level Two) on the first year anniversary.
This post is based on a split shift (long break). The shift pattern would vary between term time and school holidays.


Shift pattern example:

  • Term time: 07:1511:00 and 14:3017:4
  • School holidays: 08:4511:00 and 15:3017:45.
