Purpose_**Contributes to the overall success of CMF in Europe and globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.

Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.


This role falls into scope under the Certification Regime and requires the individual to be internally 'Certified' as a significant harm function.

Accountabilities_**- Interacting with hedge funds, asset managers, securities lenders and central banks providing execution in cash, repo and other secured financing products transacted by the European Collateral Management and Funding desk (CMF).


  • Managing client balance sheet allocations and consistently work on maintaining balance sheet netting ratios at high level for maximizing RoRWA.
  • Focus on broadening our footprint in key markets and ensure effective collaboration across the bank in an effort to support the Bank's initiative to capitalize on products per client.
  • Work with Central Securities Depositories and International Central Securities Depositories to identify, onboard and engage with pools of liquidity made available through those platform's triparty programmes.
  • Negotiate and execute under GMRA/GMSLA to optimize balance sheet and manage resources as appropriate. Similarly use sec lenders to source short collateral & specials, access cash in triparty to fund the divisions fixed income and equity positions.
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Position management & transaction booking using a variety of platforms including ION, Anvil, Loan One/ Global One, Equilend and others.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in daytoday activities and decisions. Trade within defined trading limits and counterparty credit risk limits.
  • Fully familiar with the everyday trading practices of the CMF London desk.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of daytoday business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Code of Conduct.

_Education / Experience_

  • Must have relevant & recent knowledge of market regs.
  • Excellent relations with internal BU stakeholders across geographies. Understanding of bank support infrastructure including but not limited to Global Risk Management, Operational Risk Oversight, Global Wholesale Operations, Finance and Product Control.
  • Good experience transacting in a repo or securities lending role
  • Strong Excel skills advantageous
  • In depth understanding of fixed income and equity markets and their settlement processes
  • Knowledge of tri party using BONY, JPM and Euroclear
  • Full understanding of CMF product and trading limits, the BNS risk appetite as it pertains to secured / unsecured lending in the money market space.
