About the Role:
Billericay Medical Practice has an opportunity for an administrator/receptionist to join our practice support team, on a part-time basis, for 20 hours per week, covering Monday to Friday 9am-2pm
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Maintaining & monitoring the appointments system.
- Processing requests for appointments, visits & telephone consultations, ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional.
- Processing & distributing mail.
- Taking messages & passing on information.
- Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines.
- Computer data entry/data collation; processing & recording information in accordance with practice procedure.
- Initiating contact with & responding to requests from patients, other team member & associated healthcare agencies and providers.
- Providing assistance to staff as required from time to time, including word/data processing, filing, photocopying & scanning.
- Ordering, reordering & monitoring of stationery and other supplies
- Dealing with clinical waste.
- Keeping the reception area, noticeboards & leaflet dispensers tidy.
You will have the following skills/experience:
- Experience of working in a reception environment
- Experience of telephone service environment
- Experience of the SystmOne clinical system desired
- Typing experience
- Experience of dealing with the public/patients
- Advanced numeracy skills
- Excellent keyboard and computer skills
- Excellent communication skills
- An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality
- Ability to use own judgement, resourcefulness and common sense
- Ability to work without direct supervision and determine own workload priorities
- Ability to work as part of an integrated multiskilled team
- Able to work under pressure in a changing environment
- Able to use own initiative
About Us:
The Billericay Medical Practice has a list size of 12,500 patients. We are a paperless practice who use SystmOne clinical system. We are a high achieving QOF practice and pride ourselves on the excellent patient care that we provide.
Our clinical team is comprised of 4 partners, 3 salaried GPs, 1 GP registrar, 2 nurse practitioners, 3 practice nurses and 2 HCAs.
