The role:
Pensions Administrator (Associate Pensions Consultant)


The Mercer/Darwin Workplace Savings Team provides DC pension consulting services to a range of clients, the majority of which use Darwin, our SaaS (that's software as a service) platform for global benefits management, auto-enrolment and employee engagement.


We are looking for a
Pensions Administrator (Associate Pensions Consultant) to work with and provide support to our Workplace Savings Consultants and / or take the first step into a career in consulting.


You may be an experienced DC or DB pension administrator looking for your next career move or an Analyst /Associate wanting to widen your DC knowledge and experience of using a benefits management platform.

We will rely on you to:


  • Prepare pension governance slides
  • Gathering and analysing data and preparing pension governance sides for Workplace Savings Consultants to present to their clients.

Attend pension governance meetings - Writing minutes and following up on actions.

On boarding / implementing new pension clients - Leading or working as part of a project team to ensure new clients pension arrangements are correctly set up on Darwin and/or with pension providers. Producing and checking employee facing documentation, including content to be hosted on Darwin. Working with the client to agree monthly pension processes and moving into ongoing business.

Pension change projects - Leading or working as part of a project team to delivery pension change projects including required changes in Darwin, for example, scheme, provider, default fund changes, TUPE groups, and contribution rule changes.

Auto enrolment work - Supporting consultants with AE implementations and re-enrolment projects using Darwin.

Maintaining employee facing documents on Darwin - Drafting and updating client specific pension documents following changes to a client's pension scheme or legislation changes_

Client query resolution
  • Under support and guidance of Workplace Savings Consultants, contacting and liaising directly with providers and employers on member queries or issues.

Darwin query resolution - reviewing Darwin pension and Auto-enrolment set ups and audit notes to resolve client queries.

Maintain all core MI systems - to support the production of quality MI.

Financials - where applicable, support the raising and checking of monthly invoicing.


What you need to have:


  • Demonstrable experience in DC / DB Pensions ideally including autoenrolment knowledge
  • Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills to include experience of manipulation and comparison of data sets using lookup and pivot table functions
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Analytical and investigative skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, on a group and 11 basis
  • Highly organised and strong time management skills
  • Selfmotivated and team player
  • Being flexible to meet the needs of the team

  • Studying for a recognised professional qualification.
