Project Planner (Inside IR35)**
Contract Term: 6 Months

Contracting Authority:
The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office


Location:
Hybrid (1-2 days a week in London office)


The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) and the Department for International Development (DfID) merged on 1 September 2020 to form the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).

The FCDO pursues our national interests and projects the UK as a force for good in the world.

We promote the interests of British citizens, safeguard the UK's security, defend our values, reduce poverty and tackle global challenges with our international partners.

The FCDO is rolling out a new End User Device solution to its 26,000 End Users worldwide. The Programme requires a Project Planner to support the successful transition and delivery of the Programme.


As a Project Planner,
your main responsibilities would be:

  • Build and maintain detailed project plans in MS Project.
  • Organise and/or facilitate planning workshops and online activity to identify and assure the requirements.
  • Responsible for documenting and maintain planning assumptions, planning risks and dependencies.
  • Track progress against the plan for work packages and report on the impact of any risk, issues and slippages against the key milestones.
  • Provide clarity on key milestones to define what, when and how deployment activities will be organised to ensure the outcomes can be achieved.
  • Identify tasks, activities, interdependencies and outputs for the project and work with the project team to track and monitor progress.
  • Support the project manager to identify options to optimise delivery through rescheduling of activities.
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting, highlighting impacts to the timelines as early as possible
  • Monitor and analyse information, reporting progress, slippage and highlighting areas of risk and opportunity.

You'll have relevant experience in:

- *
  • Experienced Planner in MS Project.
  • Experienced facilitator of workshops.
  • Selfstarter able to hit the ground running, working in a high paced environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of working in an IT Project/Programme delivery environment.
  • Willing to take responsibility to get things done and have excellent interpersonal skills, together with a customer focussed and organised approach.
  • Experience using MS Office suite of products and collaborative working tools e.g., MS Project, MS Teams etc.
  • Strong planning and scheduling skills.
  • Excellent project management expertise.
  • Excellent knowledge of IT Project/Programme delivery.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • The ability to multitask
  • Proactive approach
  • Microsoft software proficiency
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills
  • Good attention to detail
