Full Time, Fixed Term for 12 months.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to join Bristol Therapeutic Support Service as an Education Worker.

Our service provides a range of therapeutic support as well as consultation and training for staff and carers.

Our overarching goal is promoting and achieving stability and strengthening relationships for children in foster care, children's residential homes and returning to family.

The work of the team is varied involving providing therapeutic, emotional, educational, practical and parenting support to children and carers both on an individual, carer/ child and group basis.


The role of the Education Worker within Bristol Therapeutic Support Services is to develop collaborative relationships with schools and support them achieve positive educational outcomes and stability in school for children being supported by the service.


You will utilise an excellent understanding of the impact of trauma on behaviour, in order to support and consult to schools adopt a therapeutic approach.

This work will include helping negotiate places for children and helping to ensuring that the child's strengths and abilities are assessed and understood, and appropriate support is put in place.

You will work directly with school staff and provide 1:1 and group support to the child as needed.

You will be a dynamic and creative individual who enjoys a challenge and works well in a team.

How do I apply?

For permanent Bristol City Council employees, this post will be a secondment.

For employees who are currently on a fixed term contract with Bristol City Council, the secondment must not extend beyond the end of the fixed term period to ensure there is a substantive post to return to.

If you are currently a casual worker or a member of an employment agency (currently working with Bristol City Council) this post will be a fixed term contract.

Interviews will be held week commencing 15th April 2024
