Macdonald Hotels & Resorts is a small, family-owned nursery located in Bath. We are looking for a full-time gardener to join our team.

We are looking for someone who is interested in growing healthy plants, maintaining a beautiful garden, and helping others create beautiful gardens.

Responsibilities

  • Planting, watering, pruning, and harvesting trees and shrubs
  • Maintaining the grounds of the shop and the gardens throughout the year by mowing, weeding, fertilizing, etc.
  • Assisting with cleaning up after the season is over and storing plants in boxes
  • Maintaining the inventory of plants at all times so we can sell them in the spring and fall.
  • Maintaining an excellent working knowledge of all aspects of our nursery and being able to provide constructive feedback to other employees on products and their uses.
  • Helping with any gardening tasks that need attention during the winter months such as mulching or snow removal.
  • Providing feedback to other employees regarding the quality of their work.
  • Working well with others and communicating well on the job.
  • Being punctual and dependable for workdays that you are assigned to.

Experience:


  • Gardening experience preferred but not required (we will train)
  • Experience with power tools preferred (but not required)
  • Experience with nursery management preferred but not required (we will train)
  • Previous experience working in a garden or landscape setting preferred but not required.
