Description

The post holder has a high level of responsibility for patient care and is required to: Carry out routine quality related housekeeping including maintenance of the Quality Management System (Q-Pulse), ensure that documentation is uploaded, assist with ensuring equipment documentation is current and help improve Quality within Cellular Pathology.

Support production of quality, performance and governance reports for departmental and directorate meetings with the Quality Manager.

Help monitor all aspects of laboratory Internal Quality Control to ensure that the highest level of service is provided to patients including some participation in data collation assisting the Quality team to act on trends.

Monitor results from External Quality Assurance (EQA) and inter-laboratory comparison (ILC) schemes to help ensure that high levels of service delivery are monitored appropriately.


Job Purpose Supporting quality measures to ensure that samples that have been referred for a broad range of Cellular Pathology tests are processed correctly, guided by clearly defined policies and procedures.

Carry out quality house-keeping roles such as equipment maintenance, acceptance testing, document control, asset management, supplier reviews, logging calibrations, logging equipment downtime, data interrogation, recording audits, minute taking and use of the temperature monitoring systems.
