The role


In this role, you'll be an in-house Assessment Consultant responsible for delivering all stages of the consultancy cycle - from assessment project scoping, design, delivery, and evaluation, as guided by the British Airways assessment strategy.

You will work closely with the Assessment Manager to address BA's needs in recruitment assessment for both volume campaigns (e.g. Cabin Crew, Pilots, Cadets, Customer Experience Representative, Ground Operations) and individual strategic senior hire roles.


This is a fast-paced and dynamic role where your individual expertise, guidance, and ideas will directly shape how assessments look in our business - presenting an opportunity to be a key part of the British Airways Assessment Team.


What you'll be doing

  • Assessment centre
    exercise design, interview design, test implementation, and competency framework design
  • Support
    improvement and innovation initiatives as guided by the Assessment Manager

Collaborate with internal stakeholders and hiring managers to understand assessment needs and objectives, and then deliver these

  • Provide
    best practice guidance to inhouse recruitment specialists and line managers, challenging others appropriately when needed. This includes, but is not limited to, assessment objectivity, validity, reliability, fairness, and reasonable adjustments
  • Contribute to
    supplier activity including maximising value of existing assessments and supporting the Assessment Manager to introduce new assessments from external suppliers into BA, including Applicant Tracking System integrations

Track effectiveness and fairness of assessment methods through SPSS data analysis

  • Delivery of
    test administration using online assessment platforms when required
  • Provide
    training to assessors on assessment techniques, protocols, and tools when required

Your experience

  • MSc Occupational Psychology or equivalent (desirable)
  • Registered BPS

Test User:
Occupational Ability (formerly known as BPS Level A) (essential)

  • Registered BPS

Test User:
Occupational Personality (formerly known as BPS Level B) (essential)

  • Experience in designing and implementing assessment projects either within a consultancy or inhouse (essential)
  • Experience using tests, designing assessment exercises and interviews (essential)
  • Experience using SPSS to deliver data analysis and feed this back to nontrained stakeholders (essential)
  • Experience using online assessment platforms (essential)
  • Competent user of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word (essential)
  • Trained user of the OPQ [Occupational Personality Questionnaire] (desirable)
  • Experience of providing psychometric feedback (desirable)
  • Experience using applicant tracking system platforms (desirable)
