Overall Responsibilities
Guide the process from inception to delivery in line with agreed plans and budgets

Oversee and monitor specific elements of the programme and support the delivery of a number of exciting, emerging workstreams.

Seek to standardise the execution of programme deliverables in line with current best practise project management methodologies.

Provide broader support for the assurance framework around the Institutes project portfolio.


Support Programme Delivery

  • Coordinate across the programme team, implement effective project management techniques, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Programme Lead and external partners to develop and maintain a comprehensive, prioritised plan for the delivery of the programme.
  • Provide detailed project management structure to all programme workstreams and tasks, including setting deadlines, prioritising tasks, and assigning team members to various deliverables.
  • Oversee the development of the project and ensuring that team members are carrying out their tasks efficiently while upholding the Institutes standards.
  • Create and maintain programme org charts and project staff, roles and responsibilities.
  • Provide oversight and supervision/ line management of programme admin resource to organise meetings, events and workshops as required
  • Support the process for identification and prioritisation of projects for budgeting and planning process, in partnership with FP&A team, including conducting gateway reviews to enable budgetary decisionmaking on operational projects.

Programme Assurance & Governance

  • Support effective assurance framework across the broader portfolio of projects in the Institute, including clear and concise dashboard reporting.
  • Provide appropriate Programme dashboards and reports as requested to Steering Board and other stakeholders collating information and formatting as needed to allow Programme Steering Board to have effective oversight of all workstream activities.
  • Ensure that key programme decision points are identified and scheduled for Steering Board and other key stakeholders, with appropriate programme information provided to facilitate effective evaluation and decision making.
  • Working with the Programme Financial Planning & Analysis Lead, ensure effective arrangements in place to quantify and track benefits realisation and embed this within programme reporting.
  • Analyse financial data, including project budgets, risks, and resource allocation, to facilitate delivery within approved plans.
  • Provide financial reports and budget outlines to Programme Lead, Project Leads, the Steering Board and other key stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Support other Programme governance and communications as required.

Person specification
Qualified in Project Management and Assurance is desirable

  • A keen problem solver and team player, who can demonstrate the ability to be adaptable and flexible when working in a complex and fastpaced environment.
  • Good overall knowledge of Project Management and bet practice methodologies.
  • A diplomatic ability to enforce standards with programme/project management colleagues.
  • Skilled in data analysis and the ability to present information for the Steering Board and other key stakeholders as required.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Excellent relationship management skills with client facing experience.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills.

Experience

  • Real experience of programme delivery and assurance with the ability to track change initiatives and dependencies from concept through to closure.
  • Experience of managing and coordinating complex projects.
  • Experience of working with stakeholders at different levels.
