The Role


Copper is looking for a skilled and collaborative Chief Security Officer to join our growing digital assets infrastructure business and team.


This full-time role is based in London with some occasional travel abroad, however consideration will be given for remote & hybrid working options.


As Chief Security Officer you will lead, run & oversee enterprise-wide security comprising both technical and physical security responsibilities, as well as management of our resilience programme.


You will act as a strategic advisor to Executive Management, where you'll gain the credibility and gravitas to work effectively as a member of the senior management team.

As a member of the Risk Committee, you will also perform direct reporting to the Board and frequently engage with Regulators.


Key Responsibilities of the role

  • Manage the Security & Resilience functions internationally
  • Lead the Crisis Management process during times of major incident
  • Responsible for staff performance and career management, including direct line management
  • Plan and deliver a staff and management training program firmwide on an going basis
  • Develop regular monitoring procedures and practices
  • Represent CSO office on Management and Governance forums
  • Implement of the Security & Resilience controls framework. Undertaking assessments of the risks relating to the Copper businesses, the related controls the businesses have in place or should develop and the controls which have been, or need to be, implemented
  • Advise and support the Copper businesses globally on applicable law, rules, and regulation, including the development of responses to, and implementation of, new regulations
  • Support and / or manage the coordination of all reporting and disclosures to key regulators
  • Carry out regular reporting to the Board and Executive Management and ensure that monthly and quarterly reporting is maintained and presented at the highest quality level
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory changes and developments to ensure the impact on the business is highlighted and assessed
  • Contribute to product reviews and new product approval processes.
  • Create a cooperative culture both within the Security team as well with the business and other control functions.

Your experience, skills and knowledge

  • Extensive knowledge of and senior management experience in performing and managing security in financial services, government, technology environments
  • Excellent knowledge of Regulatory landscape in the UK, Europe, US and other markets
  • Previous holder of NATO government security clearances
  • Demonstrable management of significant security programmes and large security teams in high volume / high risk environments
