Description

The post holder will carry out treatment plans devised by the registered Podiatrists in clinics, patients own homes, care homes and nursing homes across various sites in Stockport.

They will assist the Podiatrists with minor surgery and act as a clinic assistant as requested.

They provide foot health information to patients, carers', general public

They will monitor stock levels of podiatry equipment informing Podiatrists when stock levels run low.

Full or part time considered

  • Under the direction of a qualified registered podiatrist provide podiatric care to patients and implement packages of care.
  • Prepare patients for treatment ensuring a safe environment.
  • To be able to accurately report back to the podiatrist any work undertaken.
  • Monitor stock and keep uptodate with documentation i.e. filing and photocopying.
  • To assist patient with independent prescribed practice provided by qualified podiatrists.
  • To work alongside podiatrists/other assistants to run patient activity groups when required.
  • To attend domiciliary visits to provide delegated podiatric care to patients.
  • To liaise with podiatrist and coordinate delivery of orthotic devices.
  • To assist podiatrist in nail surgery clinics and maintain documentation required for these clinics
  • To be required to work alone in line with relevant policies.

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £41.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary


In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
