Are you looking for a new opportunity to work within a developing service that is already saving lives?

An extremely exciting role for a dynamic and compassionate nursing leader has been created as part of Portsmouth Hospitals University Trusts new Lung Health Check Programme and we are seeking 12 month maternity cover to join our multi disciplinary team and continue this essential work.

The programme has been established by NHS England to increase survival through earlier diagnosis of patients that are at high risk of developing lung cancer.

In Portsmouth, the programme commenced in Jun 22 and is working to screen 24,000 eligible patients aged who have ever smoked) in the first 2 years alone, before it becomes a National Screening Programme by 2026/27.

As the Lead Nurse/Responsible Assessor you will play a fundamental role in shaping and overseeing the day to day clinical aspects of the Programme from patient journey, to MDT and onward referral.
