**45 hours per week - 06:00am - 15:30pm or 09:30am - 19:00pm, shifts on a rota basis to include some weekends

The Hawthorns Clevedon are currently recruiting for a passionate, dedicated and creative team player to join us as
Sous Chef.As Sous Chef, you will work in support of our Hotel Services team, providing a comprehensive, high-quality culinary service, which contributes to the overall well-being of our residents.
Our aim is to offer a variety of food whichis nutritious seasonal, thoughtful and nourishing.

Good quality food with inspirational cuisine can be both a treat and healthy, so no residents will have to feel guilty or left out when enjoying our food offering.


For this position it is essential that you have culinary experience, preferably in a hospitality environment, accompanied by a relevant catering qualification and as a minimum the Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.


The key responsibilities of our Sous Chef include:

  • Prepare, season and cook food for residents, customers, visitors, employees and special functions.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Possess a working knowledge of all food service positions.
  • Perform, if necessary, any food service team duties for continual operation of the facility.
  • During the Head Chef's absence, the Sous Chef will assume duties and responsibilities delegated to that position. These include managing all aspects of the food service programme in addition to managing and administering a shift based workforce on a dailybasis.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with all residents, family, visitors and colleagues.
