Duties:
- Provide animation solutions within the engine, including runtime IK, dynamic joints, and custom retargeting.
- Develop Engine and Mayabased tools to enhance production efficiency.
- Create customised gameready rigs, handle skinning, PSD, Blendshapes, and demonstrate familiarity with Advanced Skeleton.
- Evaluate and incorporate rigs and skeletons from existing productions into the workflow.
- Stay updated with industry pioneers, learn new techniques, and implement them to enhance craft, technology, and artistry.
- Showcase proficiency in animation through daily practices.
- Support animators by troubleshooting and resolving issues independently.
- Collaborate closely with the team and contribute to the development of tools and processes based on the technical roadmap.
- Implement animations in games, set up animation graphs, and facilitate handover to programmers.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of game development workflows, specifically in rigging and animation.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Maya and extensive experience with rigging and skinning tools.
- Experience working with and/or developing animation tools and scripts using Python, MEL, Pymel, or similar languages.
- Ability to create character and prop rigs in various styles (realistic, cartoony) with a deep understanding of anatomy for both humanoid and animal models.
- Proficiency in rigging facial animations using joints, blendshapes, FACS, and other techniques.
- Working knowledge of creating assets for game engines such as Unreal and Unity.
- Advanced understanding and expertise in the rigging.
- You must have eligibility to work in the U.K.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with multilayered deformation systems, deformers, blendshapes, etc., and their realtime integration in game middleware.
- Experience working with dynamics such as cloth and muscles, and integrating them into games.
- Proficiency in C#, Unreal Blueprints, and Unity Editor Scripts.
- Experience in working with motion capture data in Maya.
- Strong animation skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- A portfolio showcasing your skills in all relevant aspects
