_tpgroup _Consulting has a track record of success, as a trusted partner to customers across the defence sector, we are looking for a
_Head of P3M _to lead our team to keep pace with increasing demand. The
_Head of P3M _reports to our Capability Director and is one of five Practice Leads delivering our Consulting capability, which over the last 6 years has grown to over a hundred consultants and continues to grow across all practices.

The P3M Practice within
_tpgroup_ specialises in the definition and delivery of P3M:

governance, management and controls within Defence Projects, Programmes and Portfolios in Air, Land, Maritime and Space across the CADMID lifecycle.


What we're looking for?
As the
_Head of P3M _you will be responsible for:


  • Resource Management:Allocation of consultants to projects and accounts in support of the business, working with the Account Leads to successfully meet demand.

Capability Demand:Ensuring services and resources are available in response to account demand signal. Collaborating with Account Leads to identify need for new capability across all our customers.

Capability Development (Services):Development and maintenance of P3M service offerings, and underpinning methods, tools and techniques, etc. Collaborating with other practice leads to ensure services are coherent across the business.

As the
_Head of P3M_ your focus will be developing and defining the service offerings some of which may be:


  • Project Controls,
  • Project Management,
  • Risk Management,
  • Business Transformation.

Capability Development (People):Recruitment, development and performance management and mentoring of practice members. Collaborating with other Practice Leads to ensure recruitment, training and performance reviews (including promotions) are coherent across the business.


Why you?


The right applicant for this role will be someone with experience in leading a team/department in a P3M discipline, with the technical understanding of Project, Programme or Portfolio Management.

You should have a positive, flexible and self-motivated attitude, and be keen to develop yourself and others within the team.


You will have experience in:

  • Delivering Project Controls, Project Management, Risk Management or Business Transformation in a consultancy context,
  • Leading multidisciplined teams in a consultancy setting,
  • Working within public sector with knowledge of government processes,
  • Managing a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally,
  • Developing employees and teams through internal and external training,
  • Mentoring employees across all grades,
  • Contributing and leading successful bids/tenders.

  • To gain SC clearance you will normally need at least 5 years' UK residency.
  • APM PQ or similar essential
  • Degree level qualification or relevant experience
  • Defence or military experience
  • MOR or similar risk qualification
