The Resuscitation & Simulation Department at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is looking to appoint a Teaching Fellow to join our team of educators.


This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic, innovative, highly respected educational department within the Medical Director's Office portfolio.

The successful applicant will be actively delivering clinical skills education and high fidelity clinical simulation to medical students and foundation doctors.

There is also an excellent opportunity for personal and professional development with support to undertake a qualification in Medical Education.


  • Deliver high quality teaching for medical students and junior doctors within the Trust.
  • Support the ongoing development of undergraduate teaching for medical students in accordance with their curriculum.
  • Plan, support and contribute to the agreed programmes in conjunction with the Foundation Programme Directors and the Simulation & Clinical Skills Tutors.
  • Contribute to the delivery of multi professional nationally recognised life support courses including Immediate Life Support (ILS) and Acute Illness Management (AIM) courses.
This post is suitable for trainees who have already obtained MBBS or equivalent and have 2 years post-graduate experience.

It would be particularly suitable for trainees who wish to take time out of their programme to gain experience in Medical Education.
