Do you have extensive experience in oncology dietetics and nutritional support, are you keen to expand your leadership skills? An exciting new opportunity has arisen following a review of service for a permanent fulltime Enteral Feeding Dietetic Lead Dietitian.

The postholder will have operational leadership responsibilities in dietetics, deputising for the Head of service, they will lead on both the enteral feeding contract and the appliances contract within therapies.

They will be responsible for the enteral feeding clinical dietetic leadership working closely with the Associate Lead to ensure the strategic aims and objectives for the division are delivered and that governance and performance processes are embedded.

As the enteral feeding leader, the post holder will be responsible for the management of patients on enteral nutrition (EN) providing guidance to other dietitians and working closely with the multidisciplinary medical team.

You will have a varied caseload of both inpatients and outpatient and your main base will be Chelsea, although there will be cross site working with the Sutton site as well.


The Dietetic service is part of a multidisciplinary therapies team that provides support and rehabilitation to a broad range of cancer patients.

The post holder is considered a clinical expert and will be responsible for the enteral feeding clinical dietetic leadership working closely with the Associate Lead to ensure the strategic aims and objectives for the division are delivered and that governance and performance processes are embedded.

As the enteral feeding leader, the post holder will be responsible for the management of patients on enteral nutrition (EN) providing guidance to other dietitians and working closely with the multidisciplinary medical team.

They will be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the enteral feeding contract. They will work with the Associate lead on nutrition initiatives including catering. They will also support the operational needs across the dietetic service.

The post holder will help set and monitor clinical standards, support internal training needs and service development to drive innovation.

The post holder will ensure delivery of a highly effective, evidence-based service in order to meet departmental and commissioning targets.

This is an operational role and will also be responsible for the overall management of our wigs and breast prosthesis service.

The post holder will provide effective clinical leadership, supervision and guidance to a multidisciplinary team working with enterally fed patients.

2.1.1 Develop service objectives in line with Therapy Strategic aims and in conjuction with the Associate Lead for Therapies (professional lead for dietetics).

The post holder will ensure all staff comply with professional codes of practice, professional guidelines and departmental policies incorporating relevant NHSE/I guidelines into the service and policies.


2.1.2 Using well developed organisational and time management skills plan, run and review enteral feeding pathways held within the hospital to ensure that they meet the nutritional needs of the patient and those of the department.


2.1.3 To attend and contribute to meetings relevant to the speciality and communicate with other health care professionals on matters relating to the care of patients.

To develop a culture that is patient-centred involving service users, and which is responsive to feedback and to their needs.

To act as the Clinical Lead and expert for the EN service by ensuring all patient relevant information is updated in a timely fashion.
