Description

Six Degrees are currently working with a large manufacturing business who are looking to recruit a Finance Business Partner to their finance team.

The role offers scope to play an integral part in business by working with multiple departments to drive efficiencies in process and cost.

To prepare the monthly management accounts and additional reporting to strict deadlines. Take the lead in the annual budgeting and monthly/quarterly forecasting process.


To work closely with the sales and operational teams to provide insight into the performance of the business, to suggest improvements, to improve and flex management reporting to current issues and improve internal controls where necessary.


Forge strong relationships with the other members of the management team to become the trusted finance business partner within the large, manufacturing business.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Report on daily order intake and invoice levels
  • Provide a weekly P&L forecast to the finance and operational team
  • Prepare an accurate set of Management Accounts on a monthly basis working to a 5 day deadline
  • Ensure the monthly forecast is accurately reported in Prospero and Lucanet
  • Agree and reconcile intercompany balances each month
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Provide insightful and value added information to help drive business performance and exceed targets
  • Building partnerships and maintaining strong relationships with senior managers and their teams as the go to person for financial matters
  • Take the lead in the production of the Annual Budget and liaise with relevant managers

  • Ensure stock quantities / valuations are accurately recorded and reported

  • Ensure provisions are calculated and are in line with company policy

  • Forecast the slow moving stock to highlight any items which will increase the provision if not sold
  • Lead Stock / Capex & monthly spend reviews
  • Review Capital Investment Appraisals and forecasting


  • Product Costings

  • Ensure products are costed accurately and updated in SAP
  • Ensure financial compliance and governance, review procedures and make improvements where necessary
  • Look at new ways to automate and simplify processes
  • Review Capital Investment Appraisals and forecasting
  • Support, develop and train budget holders with their financial understanding
  • Review and resolution of queries
  • Cover the Financial Controllers duties when they are absent from the business
  • Any other reasonable request from your line manager

SCOPE:

  • Turnover of circa.£60m
  • Employing c. 150 staff

KNOWLEDGE / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Part Qualified /Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work as part of a team, under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to plan ahead and prioritise key tasks
  • Excellent oral, written and communication skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • Understanding procedures in the finance department and make improvements
  • Experience of manufacturing desirable but not essential
  • Experience of ERP systems desirable but not essential

Excellent Salary, package and scope to develop within the organisation. Based on site with ability to WFH occasionally


Salary:
£35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
