As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing individual support to pupils with special educational needs, working under the guidance of the class teacher and SEN Coordinator.

The role will involve assisting pupils who have complexlearning needs with their learning and development, providing feedback to teachers on pupil progress, and maintaining accurate records of pupil performance.


Key Responsibilities of the role:

  • Work alongside the class teacher and SEN Coordinator to provide individual support to pupils with special educational needs.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with pupils, helping to foster their personal, social, and emotional development.
  • Provide feedback to the class teacher on pupil's progress, both in terms of academic performance and personal development.
  • Monitor and record pupil performance, keeping accurate records and reporting to the SEN Coordinator.
  • Work with pupils to develop their confidence, selfesteem, and independence.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience working with pupils with special educational needs, preferably in a school environment.
  • A relevant teaching assistant qualification or relevant experience working in a similar role.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills, with the ability to record and report on pupil performance accurately.
  • A positive and proactive attitude, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • DBS on the update service.
