Purpose:


The Company Security Controller (CSC) will interpret security requirements and implement and monitor security controls for the appropriate protection of James Fisher Nuclear Ltd (JFN) and government classified assets held by JFN at all JFN sites.


The Security Controller ensures JFN's compliance with Regulation 22 of the Nuclear Industries Security Regulations (NISR) 2003 and fulfils the role of 'Dutyholder' pertaining to holders of SNI outside of nuclear facilities in the UK Civil Nuclear Industry's Supply Chain.


Key Duties & Responsibilities:


Leadership

  • Provide advice on compliance with security standards and implementing security within JFN.
  • Leading JFN's security assurance activities with The Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR).
  • Ensuring JFN sites achieve and retain List N and List X status as required.
  • Acting as point of contact with the representatives of Contracting Authorities to achieve and retain their Facility Security Clearance (FSC).
  • Liaising with the appointed Government List X Security Advisor in support of achieving and retaining List X facility clearance for relevant sites.
  • Be responsible to the Board Level Contact for the daytoday security aspects within JFN and produce the annual security report for the Security Board Level Contact.
  • Production and implementation of security processes, risk assessments, plans, instructions and Risk Management & Accreditation Document Sets (RMADS) and associated documentation.
  • Preparing, implementing and monitoring the effectiveness of required security controls and arrangements through security audits and inspections.
  • Responsibility for ensuring arrangements for personnel vetting.
  • Ensuring appropriate and ongoing physical and information security aspects including liaising with parent company IT infrastructure providers.
  • Implementing a security training programme covering List N, List X, physical, cyber and information aspects.
  • Implementing and managing a security incident management process.
  • Ensuring that identified security threats and vulnerabilities are followed up for risk mitigation.
  • Ensuring that security incidents are appropriately reported, managed, and investigated in accordance with JFN's Business Continuity Process including reporting to the relevant Contracting Authority, ONR or Government Security Advisor.

Qualifications

  • British National who lives and works in the UK.
  • Hold SC clearance or the ability to achieve it.
  • Security Controller qualification and previous experience preferable.
  • Bachelor's degree / HND or equivalent experience.

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Familiarity with security risks and associated legislation.
  • Ability to lead and champion JFN's approach to managing security risk.
  • Ability to lead JFN's response to security incidents.
  • A strong working knowledge of Government information security requirements and List N and List X requirements


You will have strong organisational skills, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with personnel at all levels, attention to detail and ability to deliver to timescales, analytical and problem-solving skills, commercial awareness.
