About Aurora


The Aurora Wellbeing Centre in Worksop is a unique service providing support in Bassetlaw for people affected by cancer, long-term health conditions and the local community.


Our aim is to provide person-centred, holistic support to local people, and to encourage them to be active participants in their wellbeing - we work together to improve physical and emotional health.


Aurora provides a range of support services including, counselling, support groups, exercise & dietetic support, beauty & holistic treatments and more.


About the Role

Main Purpose

We have an exciting opportunity for a Cancer and Wellbeing Coordinator to join Aurora's team to actively support people affected by cancer and long term conditions, before, during and after treatment.


Your listening skills, compassionate nature and knowledge will be utilised when undertaking 1 to 1 assessments to establish individual needs.

Through ongoing work with our service users, you will help them to engage and utilise
Aurora's holistic package of support tailored to them.

Memorial Avenue, Worksop, S80 2BJ, Bassetlaw

Salary £25,000

Hours 37.5 hours per week (job share/part-time would be considered)

Contract 12 months (fixed term)

Annual leave 28 days

Reporting to Cancer Services Manager

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Act as a first point of contact for and be available to, visitors entering the

Wellbeing Centre.

Carry out 'Health Needs Assessments' or 'Meaningful Conversations' for referrals to Aurora's programme of therapy services and activities.

Create individual programmes of support and care to meet service users' wellbeing needs.

Monitor services/activities to ensure user needs are being met.

Contribute to Aurora's non-clinical environment by helping create a relaxed and welcoming space for all visitors to feel valued and safe, where their concerns can be heard, and relationships can be maintained.

Keep detailed service user records and databases.

Attend meetings relevant to the role with stakeholders and partners.

Continually gather quantitative and qualitative material for evaluation in line with project monitoring, evaluation and reporting and use agreed tools and processes.

To support with the development of Aurora services in line with local need to help the charity to continue offering its invaluable services, positively impacting the community.

Work within GDPR and confidentiality procedures

Person Specification

Qualifications & Experience Required Desirable
Qualified to degree level or have experience of working in a similar role. X


Engaging with and supporting people living with cancer, or who are supporting a friend or relative who's living with X cancer.

Engaging with and supporting people who have a long
- term health condition, or who are supporting a friend or X relative who's living a long-term health condition.

Experience of capturing qualitative and quantitative data in line with programme KPIS X


Working as a member of a small, dedicated team but also capable of working in a flexible way to suit the support X needs of service users.

Working with local stakeholders including primary care, cancer champions, care coordinators, social prescribers, X

VCSE, District Council

Producing written reports and maintaining client records and databases. X
