About the Role:
Are you passionate about finance, detail-oriented, and thrive in a collaborative team environment? We're seeking a Finance Assistant with excellent IT and communication skills to join our dynamic team, who will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the financial systems utilised by the SBSs client network of schools and multi-academy trusts.
We're looking for someone who can confidently adapt their skills to our education finance setting and is flexible and adaptable in their approach to work.
As a Finance Assistant, your duties will include:
- Inputting standard information into academy finance software.
- Processing purchase orders and invoices with meticulous attention to detail.
- Handling goods received notes, resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Reconciling thirdparty income and expenditures, preparing journals.
- Maintaining electronic filing for all financial records.
- Building expertise in various computerized financial systems, including RM, FMS, PS Financials, and Sage for Education.
- Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with SBS guidelines in recordkeeping.
- Collaborating with schools to address issues and concerns that may impact others.
- Being accountable for your work to key stakeholders such as Headteachers, Governing Bodies, and Finance and Business Managers.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Identifying opportunities for service expansion within the education sector.
- Providing support and advice to team members as required.
- Actively participating in team and office meetings.
Role Holder Requirements
What will you bring to the Role?
If you can demonstrate the following, we'd love to hear from you:
- You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, when delivering a professional level of communication to school accounts we work with.
- You'll need to have an attention to detail, taking pride in the quality and accuracy of the work which you produce for our clients.
- You'll be a great collaborator, with the ability to work productively and build relationships with internal business users and external vendors.
- Some prior experience in a similar Finance role supporting clients will be advantageous.
- Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
