This role can be based in either Belfast or Sheffield

About this role:


  • This role exists to provide specialist technical support on complex network security and cyber security deployments for any and all of our UK contracts. Building intimate working relationships and trust through effective communication and meeting expectation and deadlines is key. Liaising with customer representatives or vendors and directing other support staff where appropriate will form part of the role.
    You'll have the following responsibilities:
  • Delivering aspects of a Security procedure, and / or process for BT that support the security strategy and policy and takes into account risks and appropriate legal and regulatory constraints,
  • Incident Management decision making within a defined scope responsible for ensuring that mitigation controls and incident response are appropriate and delivered in a professional manner and against relevant SLA / timescales
  • Providing security advice and consultancy to Lines of Business within BT and external customers
  • Supporting security compliance relationships with national Government or industry bodies
  • Producing and support polices, functions and configuration builds to allow implementation of customer projects
  • Completing and own integration testing on new services, producing all relevant supporting documentation
  • Attending meetings on behalf of the team leader and line manager
  • Ensuring full awareness to safeguard sensitive customer information at all times

You'll have the following skills and experience:

  • Excellent experience of supporting LogRhythm
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Linux/Unix OS, Windows OS, Firewalls and NGFW and Network devices
  • Excellent knowledge of Security Management, information security and threat intelligence. Experience in SIEM technologies, network security, malware defence and remediation would be beneficial
  • Able to utilise threat intelligence to make informed decisions to minimise harm to our business and customers
  • Proven experience of analysis & interpretation of data into useable and actionable information / intelligence
  • Good experience of risk and incident management
  • Effective communication skills, including verbal, report writing & presentations skills to all levels in an organisation
