Job Summary:


The Allocation Officer reports directly to the Operations Manager, and will be responsible for ensuring the preparation of the Allocation top sheets and efficient utilisation and allocation of spare staff prior to the day of operation.

A high standard of accuracy is required for this administrative position, which will include the prediction and compilation of the Weekly Staff Utilisation Statement, and the provision of staffing statistics.


Main Responsibilities

  • Preparation of the top sheets and Staff Utilisation Statement;
  • Allocation of spare staff and dealing with staff requests for allocation changes;
  • To develop and foster a sound relationship with platform staff and maintain good communication with other garage employees and managers;
  • To ensure cost effective utilisation of operating staff, to provide maximum cover of the duties operated from the garage;
  • The upkeep and maintenance of duty postings, WRD postings and main rotas;
  • Assisting the Operations Manager with any administrative duties as and when required;

Essential Criteria:


  • Applicants should be numerate and accurate in their work, with excellent attention to detail;
  • They should be able to demonstrate initiative, flexibility and have a committed approach to their work;
  • Experience with internal IT systems, particularly DAS, is desirable, however training can be provided;
  • A good telephone manner and the ability to get on with people and work as part of a team;
  • Knowledge of driver hours regulations is essential;

  • An understanding/appreciation of the service requirements and the management of day to day operational issues.

Hours of Work:

38 hours per week, Monday to Friday
