Description

We're looking for a Payment Operations Specialist to join our team in Bradford on a permanent basis.

Reporting into the Payment Operations Team Leader, acting as the main point of contact with operational Stakeholders, you will be responsible for overseeing the payment processes as well as manual invoice processing, monitoring and management of bank balances and reconciliation tasks.

Our Payment Operations team are responsible for several key areas, including end to end processing of financial transactions (billing, customer payments, AP); Operational cash forecasting & working capital tracking; Processing of supplier payments & expenses and reconciliation activities.

What will you be doing?

Ownership of the relationship with Operational Stakeholders
Oversight of Payment processes including BACs refunds, cheque refunds, manual supplier payments, Shareholder payments and Finance payments
Manual invoice processing, including raising of manual Sales Invoices in relation to supplier rebates & chasing collection of overdue items
Monitoring and management of bank balances for the relevant bank accounts
Maintenance of the Sales & Purchase daybooks, as well as the manual cash book
Preparation of month end journals
Reconciliations of customer top up revenue to cash receipts
Balance sheet reconciliations
Query management in relation to Invoice queries
Annual audit support & provision of relevant information to for audit requests
Establishing effective relationships with the operational finance team
Working on improving processes, with a focus on automation where applicable.
Participation in projects and adhoc work.

We tend to look for people with:

Essential:_
Experience working within a fastpaced P2P or accounts payable/receivable department & delivering to timelines.
Good working knowledge of Excel.
Strong reconciliation skills.
Strong Communication Skills to explain issues concisely and clearly.
Desirable:_
Experience of working with Finance / Procurement systems like Oracle and APRO.
Be able to present information in a clear and concise format.
Flexible and able to pick up new skills quickly.
