Description
As a Purchasing Assistant you will work closely and effectively with the purchasing team. You will have to be confident in negotiations and talking with a variety or suppliers to achieve the best possible price on fire safety products - we will provide full training on product knowledge


Key Skills / Responsibilities:


  • Carrying out tender exercises annually, per spend category
  • Purchasing per project based on the bill of quantities within the budget
  • Reactive purchasing based on onsite requisitions
  • Negotiations with suppliers
  • Supplier reviews
  • Meeting deadlines for goods to get to site
  • Chasing deliveries with suppliers
  • Resolving account queries and ordering issues
  • Oneoff procurement exercises for bespoke projects
  • Have great attention to detail
  • Ideally (although not necessary) come from a buying/procurement background
  • Have excellent negotiation skills
  • Will report into the Procurement Manager

This is a full-time, permanent position with a flexible salary banding, depending on your experience.
