Description
As a Purchasing Assistant you will work closely and effectively with the purchasing team. You will have to be confident in negotiations and talking with a variety or suppliers to achieve the best possible price on fire safety products - we will provide full training on product knowledgeKey Skills / Responsibilities:
- Carrying out tender exercises annually, per spend category
- Purchasing per project based on the bill of quantities within the budget
- Reactive purchasing based on onsite requisitions
- Negotiations with suppliers
- Supplier reviews
- Meeting deadlines for goods to get to site
- Chasing deliveries with suppliers
- Resolving account queries and ordering issues
- Oneoff procurement exercises for bespoke projects
- Have great attention to detail
- Ideally (although not necessary) come from a buying/procurement background
- Have excellent negotiation skills
- Will report into the Procurement Manager
