Job Title:
Secondary School Physical Education Teacher


Location:
East London, Stratford


Start Date - April 2023

Responsibilities:


  • Planning and delivering highquality PE lessons to a range of student abilities, ensuring that students are challenged and engaged in their learning.
  • Developing and implementing schemes of work, lesson plans and assessment strategies that are in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Providing pastoral care and support to students, including monitoring their academic progress and wellbeing.
  • Encouraging and promoting physical activity and healthy living to students.
  • Organizing and leading extracurricular sporting activities, such as sports clubs and teams, and overseeing sporting events.
  • Collaborating with other teachers and staff members to create a positive and inclusive school environment.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress and providing regular feedback to students and parents/guardians.
  • Staying uptodate with developments in PE education and teaching methods, and incorporating new techniques and technologies into lessons where appropriate.
  • Ensuring the safety of students during PE lessons and events, following relevant health and safety guidelines and procedures.

Requirements:


  • A relevant degree and teaching qualification, such as a PGCE or QTS.
  • Previous experience teaching PE in a secondary school setting.
  • Excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum for PE.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons to a range of student abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents/guardians and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Passion for physical education and promoting healthy living.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
