Head of Finance - £65,000 - £75,000 depending on experience.

This is a permanent opportunity; fulltime and part time working will be considered.


Optalis Ltd is a Local Authority Trading Company owned by, and delivering Adult Social Care on behalf of, Wokingham Borough Council and the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead.

The Head of Finance provides high quality leadership for the Finance and Compliance aspects of the Company.

With an operating budget in excess of £50m pa our team of 850 people delivers a broad range of adult social care services to 5,000 customers with a variety of needs in the community, in specialist accommodation and in their own homes.


We are the first and only adult social care organisation in the UK to deliver both provider services and statutory services.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the purpose of the role is to lead and manage the day-to-day operational Finance function by:

  • Ensuring that a high standard of financial processes and procedures are maintained, including all compliance and reporting matters.
  • Providing proactive financial advice and commercial support, with a focus on Optalis' growth and transformation agendas.
  • Managing the finance team.
  • Supporting the overall Optalis strategy of delivering services which represent best value and quality, in a way that supports our vision of fulfilling the potential of every customer, colleague and community with whom we work.
The role is based in our Head Office in Wokingham although we can also support occasional working from home.

You will also be expected to be able to travel to our services and attend external meetings around the local area.
