Description

The Podiatric Surgery Department at Park House, Carlton, Nottingham is a well-established successful department carrying out day case surgery under local anaesthetic on a variety of foot conditions.

It was originally set up in 1997, gradually increasing its capacity and staffing, providing a first class service to Nottinghamshire and surrounding areas.

The Podiatric Surgery Department requires additional clerical support to help with an increased demand and waiting list. As such, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 2 Clerical Assistant to join our team.

  • Working as part of a friendly admin team providing clerical and administrative support.
  • Present a welcoming and efficient first point of contact to all users of the department.
  • Receive and make internal and external telephone calls.
  • Maintaining patient related records and databases.
  • Making appointments for patients.
  • Typing and distributing Letters and Reports.
  • Filing, photocopying and scanning documentation.

The post holder will provide a comprehensive, high quality administrative and secretarial support service for the Podiatric Surgery Team, reporting directly to the Senior Administrator.


To work in partnership with the Podiatric Surgery team to ensure referral pathways are followed, communicating with health and social care, statutory and voluntary organisations.

To provide a high quality administrative service to locality teams.

To facilitate effective communication and liaison across professional organisational boundaries.

To support clinicians in collating information for audit purposes.

Organise and maintain databases of key contacts and distribution lists.

Typing, filing, photocopying, scanning and attaching documents.

Identify health and safety practices that are appropriate to self and others.

To participate in appropriate training courses and updates in accordance with mandatory requirements and undertake a personal development plan.

Working as a team to provide cover and sickness and annual leave, as and when required.

To undertake any other duties that would be a reasonable expectation of the role.

To provide occasional clerical support at satellite clinics.
