Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a full time Band 3 Speech and Language Therapy Clinical Support Worker Higher Level, on a 12-month fixed term contract, to join our friendly integrated Community Team for Learning Disabilities in Hull and the East Riding.

Our team provides Speech and Language Therapy input into the community teams, the intensive support team (providing support for adults with learning disabilities who are experiencing a mental health or challenging behaviour crisis in the community) and our mental health inpatient unit.

The successful applicant will assist Speech and Language Therapists in delivering therapy to adults with learning disabilities in the community and within an in-patient setting.

This work may include co-facilitating group work, individual therapy sessions, creating resources and providing accessible information, under the guidance of the Speech and Language Therapists.

The Speech and Language Therapy team has an excellent skill mix, with regular team meetings and a good supervision and support network.

You will be working in a friendly team alongside highly experienced therapists who will be available to provide support and guidance as required.

The service also has a robust clinical supervision structure and regular CPD opportunities are organised.

The Speech and Language Therapy Assistants within the service arrange regular meetings to provide peer support, a buddy system and a forum to develop clinical skills further.
