About the role:


JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • To supervise the children during staff breaks, to ensure the safety of the children
and to promote their well being at all times

  • To assist the member of staff on duty at break time during outdoor or indoor play,
by supervising 1 area of the playground each and interacting with the children

  • To ensure sufficient playground equipment is laid out at break times and cleared
up afterwards, to encourage the children to play together by modelling positive

social skills, to teach children playground games

  • To read the staff meeting minutes posted on the staff room notice board once a
week

  • To meet with the Head of Pastoral care once a week to discuss the needs of the
children

  • To deal with incidents in line with the Positive Behaviour and Anti-Bullying Policies
and record them in the playground incident book

  • To communicate serious incidents to the Lead Playground Supervisor, the
appropriate teacher and head of key stage if necessary

  • To ensure children play in the designated areas
  • To ensure children are dressed appropriately for the weather and wear trainers for
the courts

  • To provide basic first aid treatment where appropriate and to manage the
transference of more serious injuries to the nurse

  • To ring the bell outside the staffroom 5 minutes before the end of break and at the
end of break. Ensure the children walk into their lines and supervise the lines until

staff arrive

About you:

We are looking to appoint an energetic and caring individual to join our friendly team of playground supervisors. You will help to safely supervise the children at break times and encourage engaging and fun activities. In addition, there is a requirement to assist with meal times across the school.
