Management Accountant - Publishing - Central London


A growing Publishing leader are looking for a Part Qualified Management Accountant to join the team in London on a permanent basis.

This Management Accountant will be responsible for the month end financial statements for the publishing divisions by ensuringthat the Head of Financial Reporting and Group Financial Controller have all information they require.


Key responsibilities:


  • Preparation of month end Profit and Loss Accounts for publishing divisions, ensuring revenues and costs are accurately stated.
  • Producing month end pack, which provide key financial analysis and KPIs for relevant publishing divisions
  • Assisting finance team in all aspects of the preparation, including posting journals, running reports, posting monthly packs onto intranet
  • Performing month end and quarter end balance sheet reconciliations for all relevant accounts and providing detailed explanations for any variances
  • Prepare statements of earnings & costs on specific titles to enable payment to authors of appropriate profit share
  • Assisting in the year end statutory audit as required
  • Provide assistance and support where required during the annual budget process
  • Review of the forecast submitted by Commercial Finance team
  • Work closely with the relevant Commercial Directors and Analyst to better understand actual and forecast data, providing assistance and support where required

Key skills:


  • Part qualified or studying towards an ACCA/CIMA qualification
  • Some management accounting exposure and experience working as part of a finance function
  • A keen interest in the Publishing industry would be a bonus
  • A background within a Creative business is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative work approach and team player
  • Highly organised and ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent Excel skills.
  • Solid time management and organisation skills
