Pritchard Cowburn Opticians provide high quality optical services at both our Cardigan and Narberth practices.

We are looking for a trainee optical receptionist/assistant to add to the friendly team who work for us in Cardigan.

The job requires you to be motivated learning new skills and working consistently to a high level of accuracy. You must be able to use microsoft based practice computer programmes with confidence.


The Practices

These modern high-end clinical practices have the latest equipment, provide glaucoma and dry eye assessments to name a few specialist clinics.

You will be equipped with the most up to date, accurate tools and training.

The role involves both administrative duties as well as optical pre-screening tests and after-test care.

You will progress from duties such as appointment booking and payments to advising our patients on glasses to suit their style and needs, assist with glasses repairs, and competently use our computer systems.

Previous optical experience isn't essential, as full training will be given with an opportunity via distance learning to gain a qualification as an optical assistant.

Our current working hours are 9.00am to 5.00pm and flexibility to work Saturday mornings from 9.00am to 1.00pm is necessary, if required.

This position is a Full Time with part-time considered from 22.5 to 37.5 hours a week.


Holidays
4 weeks (20 days) plus 8 Statutory Bank Holidays per annum, calculated pro rata.


Pension
We operate auto-enrolment in accordance with government legislation


Sickness Pay
SSP for the first months followed by full sickness pay review depending on length of service.
