As the
Administrator and QA Officer for the service, you will be supporting the homes Management Team to facilitate the achievement of excellent outcomes for young people following key principles of residential child care, in line with Children's Homes Regulations including the quality standards April 2015, safeguarding children according to Working Together to Safeguard Children A guide to inter-agency working to safeguard and promote the welfare of children 2018, and provide robust management support which meets and goes above and beyond of the Leadership and Management Standard.
Your responsibilities will be:
- Auditing of service records, procedures and protocol
- Liaise daily with management and action issues arising within the service regarding facilities and needs
- Assist service director with staff rotas, payroll and finance
- Audit of invoices and expenses, ensuring budgets are adhered to
- Ensuring that all operations are compliant with service policy and in the future, Ofsted compliant
- Prepare appropriate HR and compliance documentation for Staff including existing and newly inducted staff members
- Maintain computer systems and shared files, ensuring all are up to date and organised at all times
- Ensure records are kept up to date at all times.
- Production of reports and management information as required.
- Communicating between staff
- Maintaining confidentiality and quality care
- Minute and note taker of professionals meetings including that concern staff or children and young people
- Organise all service affairs annual event calendar
- Develop monthly and quarterly reports for management on service activity, identifying learning points and trends
- Support a paperless practice within the service
Essential Skills required for this role:
- Relevant experience in the specialist area of the service i.e. relevant experience of working with children and young people with learning disability, trauma and mental health and resultant behaviours that may challenge
- Experience of Ofsted procedures / inspections
- Understanding of Children's Act 1989, Care Standards Act 2000, Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Equal Opportunities, Working Together to Safeguard Children A guide to interagency working to safeguard and promote the welfare of children 2018 Anti-Discriminatory Practice, and other relevant legislation.
- Good knowledge of Safeguarding procedures
- Effective communication skills, verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to motivate teams and individuals
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Good IT skills
This is a unique post which will see you work as the link between the Director and the 2 Home Managers, supporting the young people in their care.
The post will see you work closely with the management team to provide a quality assurance and administrative function to promote good practice of the service.
You will be given a large degree of autonomy and will support the Director and Management team to follow processes which are found within regulated services such as having tight oversight and ensuring risk is assessed where necessary.
