Produce/monitor annual work plan.

Author/supervise reviews for Serious Case Reviews for children & act as panel member, & produce, implement & report on action plans.

Co-ordinate/monitor MCA & DoLs arrangements Produce reports eg annual report for Board, local Safeguarding Boards/Partnerships & forums. Put systems in place for communicating with organisations & agencies.

Responsible for audit of policies & practice.

Provide strategic leadership of the operational delivery of services for safeguarding children & adults at risk, underpinned by sound practice within the clinical governance framework and the Care Act, Children Act and Domestic Abuse Act Integrate the roles of adult & children safeguarding practices & training as appropriate.

Act as a role model & promote good professional practice; ensuring & providing the provision of specialist advice, safeguarding supervision, support & training for all staff employed across the organisation.

Work in partnership with other statutory & non-statutory agencies with regard to safeguarding, in line with local & national legislation, policies & procedures.


Ensure that deaths of children & adult at risks are reported & collated in accordance with statutory requirements & local policy.

Ensure that policies, guidance & standards for safeguarding within the Trust are in line with government legislation & guidance & that compliance is monitored through audit.

Provide expert knowledge & advice to Stockport NHS FT on its statutory duties for safeguarding adults & children as stipulated in primary legislation including the Children Act 1989, 2004, Working Together 2015, The Care Act 2015, Mental Health Act 2005, and the Mental Capacity Act 2009, Domestic Abuse Act 2021 To provide assurance to the Executive Safeguarding Committee, Quality Improvement Committee & the Trust Board regarding the risks to children & vulnerable adults & the work plans to address these.

Develop & maintain links with NHS Trust Named/Specialist Nurses Safeguarding locally & regionally.

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £41.90.

This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
