As an Azure Cloud Engineer the core focus of the position is to be involved with the technical design, development and delivery of Azure cloud solutions for both new and existing clients.? You will work closely with your team, your clients and wider SixDegrees teams, to understand high level requirements in the form of stories and deliver outcomes of product backlogs.? The role will be hands-on technical delivery, focused on innovating, automating and monitoring, in line with coding standards and technicaldesign, as well as creating accompanying technical documentation for reference and reporting.

You will need to be in regular contact with your team, Tech Lead, Scrum Master and clients to communicate progress and overcome technical or design issues.


The role sits within our Operational Delivery team and forms part of a dedicated 'pod' team, consisting of Azure Tech Lead, Azure engineers and specialist SMEs supporting our clients requiring trusted cloud and agile expertise.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing engineering and operational support across client's Azure environments
  • Understand the client's business strategy, technical roadmaps and input into refinement of user stories
  • Input into agile ceremonies and daily standups as a developer
  • Contribute towards cloud best practice development, code reviews and testing & release to ensure cloud solutions are delivered and operated as required
  • Develop cloudnative systems and services utilising cloud principles i.e. landing zones, infrastructure as code (ARM/ Bicep/ Terraform), automation, CI/CD pipelines and containerisation
  • Create detailed and highquality documentation
  • Gather and analyze monitoring metrics to assist in performance tuning, incident response and postmortem, and to get ahead of client needs by providing ability to continuously innovate and improve
  • Be an expert of Azure services and native tooling, and cloud management platforms
  • Be aware of development speed and reliability, and client's service level objectives

  • Developing Solutions for Microsoft Azure AND/OR AZ400: Designing and Implementing Microsoft Azure DevOps Solutions
  • Proven experience of designing and delivering cloud technology solutions for a broad range of clients
  • Proven experience of cloud migration projects
  • Proven experience of monitoring and managing cloud technology solutions
  • Proven experience in agile/ scrum methodology and ceremonies, as a technical resource
  • Previous success in technical and cloud engineering
  • Track record of Azure engineering, aligned to Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework
  • Azure DevOps experience to setup Organisations, Projects and Security/ Permissions/ Access
  • Azure DevOps experience to setup and manage repos and (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Azure DevOps experience to support automated IaC (ARM/ Bicep/ Terraform) updates, and with automation and scripting experience also including at least basic experience of Powershell, Yaml, JSON, Python
  • Modern Code Editors experience e.g. Git, vsCode for commits, pull requests, collaborative code management
  • Azure Policy design related features experience to streamline deployments and managed service wraps
  • Experience with Azure migrations including automation and configuring landing zones and migration tools
  • Hands on technical experience with Azure, predominantly Iaas and PaaS
This role will be based remotely with 1-2 days a week in the office.
