Accounts Senior / Client Accountant / Management Accountant


McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with a highly regarded Regional Accountancy Practice in Stevenage who are looking for an ACCA/AAT Qualified or 'Qualified By Experience' Client Accountant to join their growing team.

Reporting to one of theClient Managers, you will be responsible for managing your own portfolio of OMBs/SMEs including sole traders, small companies and partnerships; and the role will offer you a route to a future Manager position.


Key duties for the position include:

  • Client bookkeeping and preparing basic management accounts for Manager signoff
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards around fixed assets & depreciation, stock, accrued/deferred income, accruals
  • Preparing statutory accounts & VAT returns for review by Managers and forwarding to clients for signoff, then submitting them online to HMRC
  • Assisting with special project assignments, ownership of agreed budgets and meeting client deadlines.
  • Point of contact for clients and other thirdparty stakeholders, with direct contact at Finance Manager or higher level
  • Ensuring all team work is carried out profitably and on a timely basis in accordance with the firm's standards
  • Assisting with promoting other service lines within the firm and attending external business seminars/events as required
