Role:
Part-time Quality Visitor for children's homes in Gloucestershire


We are looking to recruit a part-time Quality Visitor to visit our 4 children's homes in Gloucestershire once a month, working 1.5 days a week.

The hours can be worked flexibly over the month.


Salary:
Negotiable, depending on experience**
Job purpose: As an independent Regulation 44 reviewer, you will visit our children's homes and report on the quality of care provided to children


Your role involves:

  • Visiting the homes (some visits may be unannounced), interviewing children, families, staff and other professionals. Inspecting premises and records.
  • Writing reports on your findings, including your opinion on whether children are being effectively safeguarded and if the home promotes children's wellbeing. Reports are sent to the local authority, Ofsted and other stakeholders.
  • Examining and scrutinising critically how the homes are managed and the quality of care provided. Passing judgement to ensure high standards.

Requirements:


  • Experience in health and social care, especially supporting children
  • Knowledge of Ofsted and Childrens Homes regulations 2015, or willingness to learn
  • Preferably Level 5 qualification in leadership and management or equivalent
  • Strong report writing skills, ability to work unsupervised and selfmotivated
  • Good interpersonal skills to liaise with professionals; kindness and empathy towards children.

  • Do you have a level 5 diploma in leadership and management (YES/NO)
  • Do you have a good level of report writing, ability to work unsupervised and self motivating, good interpersonal skills when liaising with professionals and kindness and empathy when interacting with children? (YES/NO)
  • Are you happy with 1.5 days per week of work (note this can be worked flexibly, you do the month of work in one week if you desired)?

Experience:

- residential children's care under Ofsted: 2 years (preferred)
