Senior Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor


Job Type:
Permanent

Hours: 40 per week


Job Location:
UK wide


Travel:
up to 30% travel


SGS has a fantastic new job opportunity for a Senior Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor to join their busy and hard working team.


Key Accountabilities;

  • As Senior Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor you will be expected to lead on projects, gap analysis and auditing of health, safety and environmental management systems.
  • You will manage various HSE and CDM trackers ensuring these are kept up to date.
  • You will update a health and safety hub on a monthly basis and ensure the information is relevant.
  • You will be required to conduct audits including Health, Safety and environmental auditing at various sites including retail and data centres.
  • You will be expected to manage a schedule of auditing and ensuring auditing targets are being met.
  • You will conduct specialist risk assessments including fire risk assessments, COSHH, pregnant workers, stress etc.
  • You will manage the quarterly health and safety committee meeting and quarterly legionella meeting including preparing agendas, taking minutes and following up on any actions.
  • You will assist in giving support and advice on construction safety including CDM 2016 and CDM 2016

Qualifications:

Essential

  • To be successful in this role, you'll need to have a proven record in managing health, safety and environmental management systems
  • You will be an excellent communicator both verbally and written.
  • You must be able to present in a comprehensive but clear manor reports.
  • You will be a good motivator with energy and passion to encourage participation in initiatives, training and HSE initiatives.
  • You will be able to work within tight timescales and be organised by planning and monitoring work flow.
  • You will have a good working knowledge of excel, word, PowerPoint and outlook.
  • You will have excellent knowledge of UK HSE Legislation.
  • You will have as a minimum NEBOSH General certificate or equivalent.
  • You will have a qualification and/ or experience in construction safety and CDM regulations
Desirable

  • A sense of fun and good team player with the ability to manage your own work.
  • CMIOSH or working towards.
  • AIEMA or PIEMA or working towards
  • A fire qualification for conducting fire risk assessments ie NEBOSH fire certificate or equivelant
