Marina Developments Limited are seeking to recruit a Supervisor at Woolverstone Marina and Lodge Park.


The successful individual will work with the existing team overseeing day-to-day lodge park operations and will support the Marina Manager with the performance of the operation in all areas.


The prime tasks and responsibilities for this role are:

  • To ensure the smooth day to day running of all operations in the Lodge Park; planning and prioritizing workload to ensure that daily, weekly and monthly checks are carried out.
  • To coordinate with the cleaners to ensure all lodges are prepared and set up ready for visitors, stocks are monitored, maintained, and replenished as necessary.
  • To ensure all relevant checks are carried out in accordance with the Company Health & Safety policy to include but not limited to, COSHH, Risk Assessments, annual servicing of boilers, PAT Testing, Legionella, smoke alarms and CO2 detectors including maintaining all records.
  • To ensure the Guest Directory, Check in forms, manuals, COSHH and risk assessments are kept up to date and any changes are communicated to the team.
  • Coordinate with Management with regards to bookings, changes to lodges, demand, prices, marketing, and Reevoo reviews.
  • To ensure all administration tasks are completed in line with operational processes.
  • Deliver operational process and systems in accordance with the quality management systems of the MDL Way.
  • Working with the management team to develop and lead an empowered and motivated staff structure that functions flexibly, whilst providing the best in customer experience and site cover, driving customer focus to the forefront of the marina team.
  • Working with the management team to compile the staff rota to include optimum site cover at weekends and peak times and to conduct daily staff briefings.
  • To instill in your teams an ethos of flexible working hours driven by business demand.
  • To manage, coach and develop staff to monitor customer's satisfaction while constantly improving the customer experience ensuring excellence in customer service at all times.
  • Know how to handle periods of change and lead a team through such periods, displaying motivating and encouraging behaviours.
  • To undertake routine maintenance; ensuring the lodge park remains safe, secure, clean, tidy and well landscaped at all times and to complete the required safety checks.
  • To ensure the highest levels of customer service and experience at all times.
  • To establish a good working relationship with staff, tenants and customers, which is based on trust and efficiency.
  • To ensure the Marina Manager is informed of any damage, complaints or cause for concern.
  • To provide emergency cover or support for marinabased operations in the absence of a Marina Manager or as and when required during off peak times.
  • Any other duties as prescribed by the Marina Manager.

Performance Criteria

  • Ensure all duties carried out are in accordance with the Company Health & Safety Policy and that all Risk Assessments, method statements and operating procedures are understood and adhered to. You will ensure the Lodge Park receives a green audit designation.
  • Deliver operational process and systems in accordance with the quality management systems of the MDL Way.
All laid down Code of Conduct Marina Regulations and company procedures and policies are always adhered to.

  • Place our customers at the center of all our business practices ensuring outstanding customer care at all points of contact.
  • To operate in accordance with MDL's values; Warm and Friendly, Safe and Secure, Prompt and Efficient, Clean and tidy. Ensure you and your team are in the correct uniform and that it is clean, presentable, and well always maintained. To ensure the correct PPE is worn when necessary.
  • All dealings with team members are carried out professionally, politely, and respectfully.
  • To adopt a flexible attitude towards work whilst providing the best in customer experience and site cover; driving customer focus to the forefront of your activities and that of your team

Person Specification:


  • To have previously operated in the leisure industry would be ideal but not essential.
  • To have demonstrable experience and knowledge in health and safety within a marina/leisure environment or other similar environment
  • Be results orientated and keen to make improvements to already established businesses.
  • Able to provide first class customer service.
  • Ability to creatively troubleshoot and provide short term solutions when required ahead of long term fixes.
  • Experience of working as a handyperson in the leisure industry would be ideal but not essential.
