Assistant Psychologist Band 5


  • To enhance the provision of a SWL London wide Clinical Neuropsychology service to individuals with acquired neurological disorders and to their carers, working as a member of the Neuropsychology service.
  • To provide psychological assessments including standardised neuropsychological assessments and psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist, working independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified clinical
psychologist and within the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures.


  • To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.
  • To participate in the preparation and delivery of group education programmes, under the
supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist.


We are looking for an assistant psychologist to join the Clinical Neuropsychology Service which is a part of the Neuro navigator+ service community services which is across SWL.

The role is based in the community,, post acute and acute service where the Clinical Neuropsychology team working alongside the Neuro navigator team.

Referrals are received from a number of sources hospitals,
neurologists and stroke service, and community sources such as GPs and social workers.

The referrals are for a range of neurological conditions including traumatic brain injury, stroke, brain tumours, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson's Disease.

The role includes administrative duties such as carrying out tasks related to data collection and analysis, arranging appointments and other office duties.

It also involves direct clinical work. There will be regular supervision from a qualified clinical
psychologist, offering the opportunity to develop clinical skills, knowledge and experience.

There will be opportunities to carry out psychological interviews, mood screens, neuropsychological assessments using standardised tools and facilitating psycho-educational groups.
