Job Title:
Grants and Fundraising Officer


Location:
Curial Offices, Hinsley Hall, Headingley, Leeds.


Travel may be required.

Hours:
Minimum 21 hours/3-days a week. (Term Time only arrangements considered for the right applicant).


Accountable to:
Finance Manager


Salary:
£25,000 - £28,000 (pro-rata)


Holiday Entitlement: 25 days per annum plus Bank Holidays (pro-rata)


The Diocese of Leeds is the Catholic Church across West Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and parts of East Yorkshire, Lancashire and Greater Manchester.


The Finance Department of the Curia is part of the central administrative function of the Diocese which supports the Bishop and Parishes in the Mission of the Catholic Church.


The post holder will be a proactive team player member of Finance Department providing accounting and administrative support in the Curia and to our Parishes.


Job Summary

  • To support Parishes with fundraising.
  • To lead on the implementation of Digital Giving Methods.
  • To work within a small Finance Team.

Duties and Responsibilities

Grants

  • Offering advice on suitable grant opportunities.
  • Liaison and relationship building with grant funders.
  • Providing reporting and monitoring information to Grant funders in line with grant providers conditions.
  • Ensuring that Parishes, Diocese Agencies and the Curia fulfil the conditions of grants awarded including providing information for the associated publications.
  • Represent the Diocese and participate in the National Catholic Fundraisers' Forum.

Digital Giving Methods / Fundraising

  • To support and be proactive in implementation and promotion of noncash giving methods throughout the Diocese and provide ongoing support on cashless giving e.g. Dona, JustGiving and similar digital fundraising tools.
  • To order and support installation of Dona devices for Parishes.
  • Set up of JustGiving pages as required.
  • Working with the Finance Manager to implement a programme of promotion of legacies including literature.
  • Assist Parishes with fundraising for local projects.
  • Assist Parishes with the promotion of Parish giving.

General

  • When needed provide cover to ensure that the curia main phone number is answered efficiently and queries and messages to colleagues are forwarded.
  • Proactively assisting in items for the Quarterly Newsletter.

Essential

  • Experience of clerical work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Selfmotivated with good attention to detail
  • Sympathetic to the values of the Catholic Church and enthusiastic in supporting our Parishes (Parish Priests, administrators, and volunteers) and Curia colleagues.
  • Ability to work within a small team
  • Proactive
  • Well Organised

Desirable

  • Experience of fundraising in a Charity context
