Industry required - London Market Insurance**We are looking for a Exposure Risk Management Development Team Leader to join our clients team within the Insurance industry.


Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the Exposure risk Management Development team and enhancing the wider ERM departments analytical capabilities.
  • Maintenance, development and enhancement of new Exposure Risk Management systems and analytical tools, workflows and processes.
  • Recording and modelling of exposure information with sufficient levels of detail and integrity.
  • Production of regulatory returns including: RDS, Lloyd's Catastrophe Model (LCM), PRA GIST, Solvency II.
  • Production of capital model catastrophe data feeds, internal management information, outward reinsurance placing information.
  • Manage and develop Exposure Risk Management Development Analysts and set realistic yearly objectives for team members.
  • Maintenance of existing centralised (bespoke) loss exposure management system (Athena 2)
  • Responsible for the analytical capabilities of the ERM team by working on ad hoc projects across all classes. This includes writing technical documentation, project plans and development of prototypes, as well as working on larger scale projects, usuallyinvolving integrating prototype tools into the wider Athena 2 system.
  • Development of all aspects of the ERM department's workflows and processes, from technical work to documenting new or existing processes.
  • Analysing data to provide in depth insights into the portfolio, including outwards reinsurance analysis, to present new and innovative ways of managing risk to Senior Management.
  • Main point of technical expertise within natural catastrophe realm, sharing relevant knowledge to improve the ERM and DTS team's overall technical level and organising training sessions where appropriate.
  • Development of new methodologies and strategies to quantify and measure nonmodelled risk, in conjunction with the model research and validation team and wider ERM department.
  • Active participant in Exposure Management Strategy meetings and the exposure management working group.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in Exposure Management, including working knowledge of all major modelled catastrophe risk classes, both at an account and portfolio level.
  • Working knowledge of nonmodelled Catastrophe risk and the techniques involved in the quantification of such risk including methods of integrating with modelled risk.
  • Advanced knowledge of Insurance / Lloyd's market concepts, including complex reinsurance structures and regulatory returns.
  • Strong working knowledge of thirdparty Catastrophe Models, especially AIR/RMS, and underlying concepts involved in Catastrophe Modelling.
  • Expert knowledge of SQL (Microsoft SQL Server, but should be reasonably comfortable in all flavours).
  • Advanced knowledge of software development with a strong background in at least 1 object oriented language. Able to write, maintain and manage development of high quality software in conjunction with working within internal IT controls.
  • Advanced knowledge of TFS / GIT version control processe
  • Highly Analytical individual with a history of delivering high quality analytical tools and systems, within budgetary and deadline constraints.
  • Advanced knowledge of Python a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of webbased development, including JavaScript frameworks, a plus
  • Knowledge of 3rd party natural catastrophe API's a plus, especially AIR Touchstone / Touchstone Re and Analyze Re
  • Working knowledge of wider ERM department a plus, examples include cyber, financial risks, claims, ceded reinsurance and actuarial pricing processes.
