Job overview:

To provide full clerical and administrative support to the Inpatient ward, the Outpatients' Department, the Minor Injury Unit (MIU) and/or the clinical teams.

There will also be a requirement to cover the main reception, which is a key function within the hospital.

To be the first point of contact for all patients, visitors and members of the public attending the hospital and to ensure they are fully assisted as required.

Main duties of the job:

We are currently looking for an administrator to join the Administration Team at Helston Community Hospital.

The post is full-time working 37.5 hours per week, although part-time will be considered, and does include some evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.

The 7.5 hour shifts are rostered and will not be fixed or set days.

A uniform is provided and the flexibility to work additional hours to meet service need would be an advantage but is not essential.

The primary duty of the postholder will be to alternate between the busy inpatient ward and main reception.

You will need to be extremely organised and pay close attention to detail and be flexible to deal with changing work environments and priorities.

Having the ability to learn new processes and procedures quickly will also be necessary.

Previous experience of working in a patient or client-focused environment will be an advantage, as will experience of working in a busy reception.

Training and support will be given to the successful applicant.
