ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER SOUGHT BY DYNAMIC LEISURE/HOSPITALITY/ RETAIL BUSINESS, FOR HIGH TURNOVER UNIT IN EAST LONDON.
My Client is one of the UK's most successful retail/leisure chains, with locations across the UK.
They are continuing to consolidate their presence, taking market share from their rivals, and organically growing their UK presence.

It will continue to pursue its market leading growth plans through the identification of new site developments in its existingmarkets supplemented by strategic acquisition opportunities across Europe.

They now have an opportunity for an Assistant General Manager to join their high turnover unit in London.

An Assistant General Manager must:

  • Have a proven track record in delivering exceptional customer service
  • The personality to lead, coach, develop and motivate your team
  • 2 or more years experience in a similar role
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
What do you need to do well?

An Assistant General Manager you'll need to make sure our standard of service remains high at all times, ensure the site is running smoothly, keep the atmosphere just right for the time of day, look after guests, manage staff, deal with a few otherthings.

YOU MUST have run your own large turnover, high-paced, hospitality, leisure or retail unit, with a real understanding of how to motivate your team to produce the highest levels of customer service, backed by strong operational skills.

Essential Experience;

  • Management experience (at least Assistant Store/General Manager level) within a fast paced Retail, Leisure or Hospitality business
  • Have been fully accountable for a P&L account
  • Have managed a site with a high degree of customer footfall where there is a high focus on providing customer experience (not just managing transactions)
  • Experience of managing a £1.m+ turnover site
  • Experience of leading a team of circa 20+ people with direct responsibility for at least 12 supervisors/managers
  • Able to demonstrate proven examples of using business data and reports to make commercially sound decisions that drive business performance.
